Terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HumDocs website, the HumDocs Chrome extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. HumDocs sells HumDocs Pro directly. Google does not sell it and is not a party to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live), or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to use the Service and to buy HumDocs Pro. You may not use the Service if you are under 13. You are responsible for all activity under your account, credentials, license key and devices. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your contact details current.

2. License and permitted use

Subject to these Terms, HumDocs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful and authorized purposes.

HumDocs Pro. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Your license key is for you, on the computers you use. One key can be active on up to 5 computers at a time; if you replace a computer and reach that limit, email us and we will reset it. Do not share it, sell it or post it publicly; a key that is shared publicly may be turned off. "Lifetime" means for as long as HumDocs offers the extension and its Pro features, including the updates we release in that time. It does not promise the Service will be offered forever. If we stop offering HumDocs, a key that was working keeps working in the copy of the extension you have installed, as far as that copy can work on its own.

Free trial. Each installation of the extension can start one 3-day trial of Pro, from the extension, when you choose to. No payment details are needed, nothing is charged when it ends, and the extension returns to the free plan by itself.

Free plan. Without Pro or a running trial, the extension types as many runs as you like, of any length. Free runs are not counted on our server and need no internet connection. We may change what the free plan includes.

4. Payments, billing, and refunds

HumDocs, not Google, is the seller of HumDocs Pro. Payments are processed by Stripe on its own pages; we never see your card details. The price is shown on humdocs.com and at checkout, in the stated currency, and may exclude taxes. Refunds work as described in our Refund policy: a full refund within 14 days of purchase for any reason. When a refund goes through, the license key stops working. Chargebacks or payment fraud may result in the license being suspended.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, branding, design, and content (excluding your submitted content), is owned by HumDocs and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service except as expressly permitted. Google Docs and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC; HumDocs is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

7. User content and feedback

You retain rights to content you create. The extension types the text you give it into the Google Doc you choose, from your own browser; that text is not sent to us. If you submit feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.

8. Availability and changes

The extension works with Google Docs and Google Chrome, which Google can change at any time. We will try to keep HumDocs working when they do, but we may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. We are not liable for downtime, interruptions, or incompatibilities caused by third-party platforms, browsers, or provider outages.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not promise how anyone else will judge a document, its history, or the way it was written.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HumDocs and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HumDocs from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if needed to protect users, third parties, or the Service.

13. Governing law and your rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, excluding its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live that cannot be waived, including the right of consumers in the EU and the UK to cancel within 14 days.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms are effective when posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
