Questions and answers
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Press Start free trial in the extension and sign in on humdocs.com: 14 days of Pro, one free trial per account. No card. When the 14 days are up you keep the free plan, unless you buy Pro.
What is free, and what does Pro add?
The free plan types every run, any length, as many as you like (one sitting is up to 3 hours), with every style and control, the timer in your Doc, the reference card, formatting, line by line, carrying on after a reload, the summary at the end and typing while you work in other tabs. Pro adds Type later (even with the Doc closed), breaks, file import and your own saved styles. It is a one-time purchase.
Does it work in Google Slides?
Yes. Click into a text box on a slide and it types there, with the same pace, typos, timer and breaks. Type later is for Google Docs only.
Can I pause, stop, or use the Doc while it types?
Yes. The timer in the Doc has pause and stop, and Alt+Shift+P pauses or resumes from any tab. Type or click in the Doc and it pauses by itself, so your typing and its typing never mix.
Can I work in another tab meanwhile?
Yes. It keeps its pace while you work in other tabs or windows. Keep the Doc’s tab open; the popup can be closed.
How do I activate Pro?
Buy while signed in and your license key appears on your account page. In the extension, click the gear, open License, paste the key and press Activate. One key works on up to 5 computers you use.
Does my text leave my browser?
No. The extension types your text straight into the Doc from your own browser, and your text is never sent to us or to any other service. It talks to our server about licensing: to start your free trial (kept with your HumDocs account) and to check a license key. Those send a random id for this install, and the key check also sends the key. It also sends anonymous counts of events like installs and runs, with no identifiers. Nothing else.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email [email protected] within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked. The refund policy has the details.
Is this meant for academic dishonesty?
No. HumDocs is not designed or licensed for cheating, plagiarism, exam misconduct or policy evasion. You are responsible for following the rules of your school, employer and platforms.
