The Causes of World War I
World War I, often referred to as the Great War, began in 1914 and involved most of the major world powers. Historians have long debated the primary causes of the conflict, with most agreeing that a combination of nationalism, imperialism, militarism, and a complex system of alliances created the conditions for war.
The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary on June 28, 1914, served as the immediate trigger. However, the underlying tensions had been building for decades. European nations had been engaged in an arms race, particularly between Germany and Britain, which created mutual suspicion and fear.

Quick answers
Can I pause or stop during a run?
Yes. You can pause, resume, or stop at any point. Progress and timing indicators update in real time so you always know where the run stands.
What happens if I switch to another tab?
Typing pauses, and picks up where it left off when you come back. Chrome slows timers right down in background tabs, so without this a long run would fall behind and then rush to catch up, which is the opposite of what you want in a document’s history. Keep the Doc tab open and visible while a run is going. You can close the extension popup; only the tab needs to stay.
What if I need to step away mid-run?
Take a scheduled break from the timer in the document: 2, 5, 10 or 15 minutes. The typing clock stops for the whole break, so the break does not eat into your run. You can add time to it, pause it, or come back early.
What does “natural version history” mean?
The typing engine includes realistic save pauses and human-like cadence so document revision checkpoints appear more like normal drafting behavior.
Is this intended for academic dishonesty?
No. HumDocs is not designed or licensed for cheating, plagiarism, exam misconduct, or policy evasion. You are responsible for complying with your school, employer, and platform rules.
What is HumDocs useful for?
Teams use it when polished text already exists elsewhere and needs to land in a Doc with believable pacing: turning notes or bullets into readable prose, dry-running how long a read-aloud will feel, or reducing manual keystrokes when drafting is tiring. Does my text leave my browser?
No. The typing flow runs locally in your tab. The preview and controls stay client-side unless you add your own backend integrations.
